Click OK and return to the Libraries | Live Load screen. The live load you just created will appear in the list under Items. Click Save to save the new live load in the currently loaded library file under the same file name, or click Save As to save it under a different file name. Once the live load library has been saved, click Close to exit this screen and return to the main program window.

You can modify a live load by highlighting it and clicking Modify. In the screen that appears, make the necessary changes and click OK. To delete a live load, highlight it and click Delete.

The live load types for LFD design code are lane and truck. The default libraries include a number of pre-defined loads that cannot be modified by the user. Similarly, the live load types for LRFD design code are Design Lane, Design Truck, Design Tandem, Double Truck, Double Tandem, Permit Vehicles and Legal Trucks. Each of these load types has been internally setup to form the appropriate load combinations and envelopes, and the Legal Trucks are for use in the Legal Load Rating.
